Junior Congregation
Junior Congregation, a vital component in the religious school, is held on many Saturday mornings (see CJC calendar) and the service ends in the main sanctuary. Children are brought to the Bimah and lead the congregation in the singing of Adon Olam. There are attendance requirements specific to each grade level and this ensures that our students are comfortable with and proficient in prayers and rituals of the Jewish service.
Parents are always encouraged to attend services with their children. It is important to remember that every service attended helps your child to become more familiar with the prayers and melodies that are included in all Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations. Parents are asked to indicate in writing all Junior Congregetion services that your child attended and have it sent to the Religious School office. This is to ensure that your child receives credit for services attended. Note: Services attended at other synagogues are valid.
